OpenAI Rolls Out GPT-6 to Everyone: ChatGPT Answers Now Come With Interactive UI
OpenAI announced on October 7 that GPT-6 is officially entering ChatGPT: paid users get GPT-6 Sol first, free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna in batches from October 8. The simultaneously launched Intelligent UI puts charts, buttons, and interactive widgets directly in answers — output is no longer text-only.

On October 7, OpenAI announced that GPT-6 is officially entering ChatGPT. This is a rollout to everyone: Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise subscribers get GPT-6 Sol; free and Go users start receiving GPT-6 Luna in batches from October 8.
Both variants are tuned for everyday conversation. OpenAI already shipped the first GPT-6 models to paying customers last month; this round targets the 1.2 billion people who use ChatGPT weekly.
Answers Aren’t Text-Only Anymore
The headline isn’t model specs — it’s Intelligent UI. The model decides how to present each answer based on your question. Comparisons render side by side; explanations become interactive diagrams; questions answerable in one sentence stay plain text.
What it can generate:
- A cooking timeline next to a recipe
- Road-trip stops pinned on a map
- Interactive explainers where dragging inputs updates results live
- Widgets: savings calculators, bill splitters, even playable mini-games right in the chat box
Technically, OpenAI prepared a native component library plus a compiler. Interfaces stream in alongside generation — no waiting for the full reasoning run to finish rendering. The model can also hand over the start of an answer while still thinking, filling in the rest progressively.
An Interesting Detail
Both sub-variant names come from celestial bodies: Sol for the sun, Luna for the moon. The tuning split is equally deliberate — paid and free tiers run different model configurations.
OpenAI admits the model’s judgment on “when to draw, when to add buttons” still needs work. Intelligent UI is fundamentally that judgment call: when plain text explains best, and when another format explains better.
What It Means for Users
Product-wise, generating widgets inside answers absorbs some lightweight-app use cases into the chat box. For ordinary users the most direct change is fewer app switches: splitting bills, checking routes, crunching numbers — all without opening another tool.
The rollout starts with paid users; free users receive it progressively from October 8. If you open ChatGPT today and see buttons and charts in answers, the wave has reached you.
